In 2021, Ohio began giving its residents a tax credit on state income taxes (up to $750 per adult or $1,500 per couple) for donations to any Scholarship Granting Authority (SGO). Beginning in 2023, you can contribute in the spring before you file your taxes. So, for example, you can contribute in the spring of 2025, anytime before you file your 2024 tax return (prior to 15 April 2025), and still get a tax credit on your 2024 tax return.
So, what does this mean? If you donate to the Dayton Reformation SGO, your donation (up to $750 per adult) will be refunded to you as a tax credit (assuming you pay at least $750 per adult in Ohio income tax). Essentially, donating comes at no cost to you, because you get the amount back as a tax credit. If you live outside Ohio, you can still give to the DRSGO! The DRSGO is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible charity, so you can still take a federal tax deduction, if you donate by 31 December and itemize your taxes.
Anyone can donate to the DRSGO, including RCA parents, relatives, teachers, staff, and students.
Please prayerfully consider supporting this SGO to greatly advance Christian Education in Dayton! And tell your family and friends about this!
Thank You,
The DRSGO Board Members:
Nathan Jones, Mindy Kootstra, and Kristen Rodgers
